OpenStreetsPGH is a free community event that opens miles of streets for people to walk, run, bike, and explore spaces that would otherwise be used by motor vehicles. Learn more at https://openstreetspgh.org/

United Methodists from churches in the Pittsburgh District took to the streets on the morning of Sunday, July 28, 2019 to offer Open Streets Pittsburgh bike riders and walkers an opportunity to create Blessing Bags as they passed the table along Forbes Ave. There were over 300 bags made from the help many. The bags contain a variety of items that an unhoused person may need -- food items, small notebooks, sunscreen, chapstick, and information about community resources. District churches donated the items. Riders and passers-by were invited to make a bag and keep it in their car or with them to share with someone in need.
