FRIDAY NIGHTZ ROCK
Two Friday nights a month, we welcome children school ages K to 5th grade to participate in a program we call Friday Nightz Rock! Each Rock event, we begin with a time of rambunctious worship in our sanctuary that includes a short message and Bible Story geared specifically for kids. Following this group worship time, we provide a complete meal for the children (and usually plenty of second and third servings to go around). At the end of the meal, children are dismissed by age group to classrooms where they build upon the foundation of the Bible Story and message received at the beginning through a variety of learning techniques including retelling the story from a different point of view, incorporating motor activities for learning reinforcement (also known as craft time), physical learning and group building (often confused with "just" games), and often some visual reinforcement of the main point of the message. Each group receives age appropriate lessons and reinforcement while being taught by leaders and helpers whose passion it is to share the love of Christ and the meaning of the Scriptures with the children.

HISTORY
Friday Nightz Rock began as an extension of our Vacation Bible School partnership in 2013 with The Bethany House, a United Methodist mission organization serving children in Northview Heights. Starting small, our first gathering at the end of August had 16 children in attendance. Throughout the course of the past 5 months, we have continued to grow. Two Friday Nights per month, we now offer a supportive, Christian atmosphere and program to over 60 children. It takes many adults and leaders to make this possible, meaning that we frequently have over 80 people in the building.
