April 21, 2024 Fourth Sunday of Easter

The God who created us is calling us as ourselves. We may not have a specific kind of ministry like Mother Teresa’s in Calcutta, but perhaps we have gifts for sensitivity and presence that allow us to sit with a grieving person—or for cooking and organization that allow us to manage Thanksgiving dinner! There are many different kinds of gifts, and many different applications of those gifts—and thanks be to God for that. I am looking forward to learning together what particular collage of gifts are part of the fabric of this church community!

I’ll see you in church!

Prayer

God our Creator, we thank you for the multiplicity of gifts you have given to humanity. We thank you for gifts that care for the community itself, and for gifts that look outward to the people around us. We thank you for quiet, behind-the-scenes gifts, and for social, group-oriented gifts. There are so many aspects of us, each created by you, and we give you thanks for that. We ask that you teach us how to honor the gifts in ourselves and in each other, and that you show us opportunities to use those gifts in your Name, for your honor and in love for your people. Amen.
