Best of all, next Sunday, will be Easter, when we’ll celebrate together Christ’s resurrection, which shows us God’s absolute insistence that nothing, not even death, can separate us from the love of God.

Gracious and loving God, who brings spring out of winter and life out of death, we are awed by your persistent love. As we listen to the stories of your final days in Jerusalem, help us to hear your courage and your determination, and to see your steadfast love in your decision to face all these things without flinching. We are humbled by a love that great. Help us to see it and to hear it in the stories we explore this week, and to know how beloved we are. And finally, help us to share that love with other people—whether we share love in words or in service—in your holy name. Amen.
