Prayer

Gracious and holy God, we give you thanks for this time of Lent, in which we learn to tell the truth about ourselves and about the world. There is so much good here in this world and this life, but there is also pain and brokenness, and we can only tell the truth if we allow all of them to be seen. Help us, in the words of that famous prayer, to be faithful, to change the things that we can, and not to ignore the pain in the world. Help us, at the same time, to trust that you are always at work, always loving us, always holding us, knowing that you love this world more than we ever could. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
