That said, I am hoping to be moving into a more active season of pastoral programming again very soon. I plan to speak with Council at our next meeting about my current ideas, and I give thanks for all of the people who have kept the balls rolling on many scheduled activities. A church is functioning well when no single person carries all of the balls, and when work and support is distributed widely, so thank you—and well done!

Loving God, Creator of all that is, we give you thanks for the beautiful weeks of fall sunshine that we’ve had recently, and all of the lovely colors around us. We give you thanks as well for the upcoming rain which cleanses the air, nourishes our plants, and keeps our waterways flowing. Help us to stop and notice your creativity and your ongoing care of creation—help us to delight in it as you do. Bless us with the capacity to notice, to act in ways that steward your good gifts, and to give thanks. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
