February 15, 2026 Transfiguration Sunday

Finally, I have a few things to thank you all for:  thank you for giving so abundantly to our Valentine’s Love Baskets, and thank you to all of you who so faithfully delivered them to shut-ins and to people who needed a little extra love this year.  God bless you.  And thank you also to all of you attended or otherwise supported my ordination site visit last week.  All went very well, and the district superintendent and the attending members of the Board of Ordained Ministry are all recommending me for ordination.  Thank you—your love and support mean a great deal to me, and I honor your continuing work for the church.  For those of you curious about the process, I still have a two-day interview process in March in front of the full Board, and hope to have good news after that.  Your prayers are very much welcomed in the meantime.

Grace and peace to you all as we prepare to enter the Lenten season,

Becky

This is a prayer from our Bible study last night, when we looked at Psalm 146 in a variety of ways, and it is a prayer remarkably timely for us in this moment of national anxiety.  Whatever “side” you’re on, I’m hearing from you that you are concerned about our times, and so I offer you this prayer.

A Prayer for Illumination

Almighty and loving God,

The highest heavens and the depths of the oceans convey the wonders of your splendor and majesty.  Open our eyes to see your glory also revealed in places of despair and brokenness, and in times of grief and fear.  Truly, our hope is in you.  Amen.[1]
