The point of thinking about our gifts is not simply to sustain a local church building, but to make sure that we are managing ourselves in terms of the missions to which we are called. We are participating in God’s work in the world, including in ourselves. Anything that we do that supports life and the love of God, in ourselves or others, whether worship or Bible study or service or thanksgiving, is a kind of stewardship.
So, as you manage your lives, remember that you are a child of God, beloved and gifted, and that you are a part of this community. And may God bless you as you live each day.
I’ll see you in church—

Prayer
Gracious and loving God, we give thanks to you for the gifts in our lives. We thank you for all the times we have had enough, and for all the times that we have had more than enough, whether love or time or anything else. We offer it all to you, knowing that it comes from you, and we give you thanks. Bless our use of our time and our talents, our labor and our sense of humor, and all of the other ways that we can live in the world and honor you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
