October 13, 2024 Twenty-First Sunday After Pentecost

We know we have reasons to celebrate, and reasons to grieve, reasons to praise, and reasons to pray. So savor your beautiful moments when they happen, and savor the knowledge of God’s commitment to be with you in Jesus Christ, and continue in prayer in all of the difficulties, including the moments we don’t understand.

Grace and peace, and I’ll see you in church—

Becky

Prayer

Loving God, it is difficult sometimes for our minds to comprehend the breadth of human experience. Our hearts soar at the births, the weddings, and the moments of seeing you in our lives, and yet we are still sometimes stunned by the power of a hurricane, or the suddenness of an accident. It is in the difficult times when we most need to remember your commitment to us, a love so powerful that it brought Jesus into the world in a human body, for our salvation but also for love. We pray for the people of Florida and North Carolina, and hold them in your love. Help us to respond as we can, and to take responsibility for what we can, and always to turn to you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
