October 20, 2024 Twenty-Second Sunday After Pentecost/Laity Sunday

What might someone else say that we haven’t thought about before?  What might we notice that we haven’t before?  What thing we already “knew” had been forgotten, and needed relearning?  A life of discipleship is a process:  we are always looking to Jesus in all of the ways available to us.  We are checking in with our community as we each live our lives, and we are supporting each other in prayer and in presence.

This week, a highlight of being present with our community includes not only the church service for Laity Sunday, but also the Harvest Dinner this weekend.  We are looking forward to seeing you at both!

Prayer

Loving God, this week we thank you for the gift of time:  time to learn, time to pray, time to love each other.  We thank you that you are patient with us as we grow over time, as we reach new stages of life and of faith, always knowing that more new stages are coming.  We thank you for allowing us to grow, that we change and learn as we live our lives.  And we thank you, too, for the gift of seasons, that we see and know and focus on different things at different points of the year.  Help us to bless the time that we are given, by knowing you better and seeing things aright, and by giving you thanks always.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
