December 1, 2024 First Sunday of Advent

We could not have a more experienced scholar, and I’m also happy to tell you that you couldn’t meet a kinder, funnier man.  It will be our way to pause and remember the season, to seek both God and a few hours of peace and fellowship in a season that can be hectic and demanding.  I hope you can join us!

Wishing you a very Happy Thanksgiving, and I’ll see you in church,

Becky

P.S.  Thank you all of you for living out the love of Christ in your donation of coffee to the local feeding ministry!  Donations continue through this Sunday.

Prayer

Gracious and loving God, we give you thanks for another year of your goodness to McKnight United Methodist Church.  We thank you for new stability in the budget, and for a growing sense of confidence and optimism as we live into our Christian call in the world.  We thank you for new and returning faces, for the community that stayed steady and now is growing.  We thank you for all of the people who help to serve and maintain both the community and the facility, whether or not they are paid for their work.  And we thank you for calling us together as the Body of Christ, in love and in hope and in worship.  Amen.
