It’s a science-based one, so it won’t be the same one every other church is doing, and because by nature it’s for kids, it allows us to make our presence known to families around us. I was really impressed by the sample, and am looking forward to putting this one into action, both for McKnight and for the community.
And finally, this weekend is Pentecost, when we celebrate a very particular arrival of the Spirit within the new Christian community in Acts. The liturgical color for Pentecost and for the Spirit is red, so if you happen to have some red in your wardrobe, you can wear it this Sunday to join in the celebration.
I’ll see you in church—

Prayer
Holy and ever-present God, in our current season our church turns to you. We seek the guidance of your Spirit. Again and again in the Bible, the Spirit moves, refreshing and inspiring the people of God. We ask for your movement now, helping us to discern in our church and in our community so that we can live out our mission as the church. We look forward to noticing your presence in our community, again and again and again. In Jesus' name, Amen.
