September 22, 2024 Eighteenth Sunday After Pentecost

I love it when something returns me to that sense of wonder, of giftedness.  Because that’s really what we’ve got.  A gift.  Each hour, each evening, each day, offers opportunities for love and fellowship, for reading or contemplation, for working and a sense of contribution to the world and to each other’s lives.

This week, with me, I invite you to experience time—at least sometimes—as a gift.  Savor the moments:  a book read, a tennis game played, time in the car with a friend or a loved one.  Savor it, and give thanks.

I’ll see you in church—

Prayer

Holy and loving God, open our eyes to wonder, to the opportunities we have to love you and the world you have given us.  Help us to savor our moments, to see the richness of creation and the beloved variations in humanity.  Help us to see our giftedness, even as troubles inevitably arise.  Help us to taste and see, Lord, your goodness.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
