January 19, 2025 Second Sunday After the Epiphany

It would be a mistake to think that being Christian is all about doing, and especially all about our doing, because God is never absent from the world, but as we seek to live faithful lives, and particularly seek to live life as a faithful community, it is good to remember that we can love in ways that are more than abstract:  simple, feet-on-the-ground love, love that really does invite people to see that our faith matters now, and that it shapes the way that we live our lives.

Looking forward to Sunday,

Prayer

Holy and loving and always-present God, we give you thanks for the opportunity to participate in a community that loves you and loves each other.  We are human, and we might know irritation sometimes, or disagreement about how things should be done, but we thank you that you have blessed this community of your Body with love and with caring and with giving hearts.  We ask that you continue to shape our hearts and lives, that we might give to each other, and to the world, in ways that honor your steadfast love for us.  In Jesus’ name.  Amen.
