And in the meantime, I ask your prayers for the Annual Conference this week. We are not anticipating any big controversies, but legislation is by nature careful and slow work. Please pray for us as we listen and pray and discern together how our Conference might faithfully respond to each piece of legislation. And as you know, I am being ordained this year at Annual Conference, on Friday at 7:00 p.m. You can attend in person if you like to drive, but you can also watch online. The link to watch that service has not yet been posted, but when the time comes, you can find it on this page: https://www.wpaumc.org/AC.
Grace and peace,
Becky
Prayer:
Holy God, we thank you first and always for your faithfulness to us. We thank you, too, for the faithfulness of those whose ministries continue to bless this congregation—for the ones who tend the church property, the church finances, and the people of this church, among other things. We have long been blessed with loving gifts of time and talent, and we are grateful. As this new ministry opportunity begins at our church, we ask for your blessing there as well: for vision, for persistence, for love and for tolerance. Bless their times together, that they might have the blessed community you showed us in Acts. We ask your blessing on our Annual Conference as well, that the delegates can faithfully discern a good response to the legislation before us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
