September 20, 2026 Seventeenth Sunday After Pentecost

I’m also considering a new category:  Caring for our Church.  I’m considering some kind of event or series about surfacing and talking about differences—because our larger communities very much need people who can practice and model how to talk about differences in opinion without immediately going into crisis or anger mode.  I’ve also been thinking of things like having a clean-up day, to do the kind of things that aren’t part of anyone’s weekly task list—like taking a Mr. Clean eraser to the walls—and an event about our polity, which is simply a word for how our United Methodist church governs itself.

Let me know what you think!  You can tell me on Sundays, or email or text.

Grace and peace,

Becky

Prayer:

Loving God, you ask us not simply to believe and to trust, but also to live our faith—to live in the world as a part of your Body.  We are to care for each other and for ourselves, and also to reach out beyond ourselves.  We ask for your guidance as we seek to live faithfully as your people, both within the church and outside of it.  Bless us and keep us as your people of hope, for each other and for the world.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
